NEH Internship Program

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is an independent federal agency that provides support to advance and disseminate knowledge in all of the disciplines of the humanities: history, literature, linguistics, archaeology, jurisprudence and the history, criticism and theory of the arts. NEH grant programs are designed to achieve four objectives: (1) the creation of new knowledge in the humanities; (2) the dissemination of the humanities to the American people; (3) improving humanities education; and (4) preserving and increasing the availability of resources in the humanities. Representative projects include: fellowships for independent scholars, college and university teachers; support for documentary films for airing over the Public Broadcasting System; summer seminars and national institutes for college and school teachers; development of cultural institutions and exhibits; and the preservation of manuscripts, books and artifacts in the nation's archives, libraries and museums.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is accepting applications on an open continuous basis for volunteer student and other internships. While we are unable to provide paid internships at this time, we are able to provide valuable experience working in program and administrative offices of the Endowment.
