Announcing the March Road to Recovery Programming: Homelessness and Substance Use Disorder Treatment: Recovery-Oriented Housing and Achieving Healthy Lifestyles

Join host, Ivette Torres, as the Road to Recovery examines the relationship between homelessness and substance use disorder treatment from both a program perspective and a policy perspective. The March show will also explore the issues of permanent supportive housing, comprehensive treatment protocols, and recovery support systems to assist individuals in achieving lifelong positive physical and emotional health outcomes in long-term recovery. The relationship between homelessness, mental health, and substance use disorders is complex, multidimensional, and reciprocal. To effectively break this cyclical relationship, it is essential to understand that treatment for substance use disorders is effective, and recovery is possible.

Airing In April: The Lois Wilson Story, When Love Is Not Enough

On April 25th, Hallmark Hall of Fame presents “When Love Is Not Enough, the Lois Wilson Story,” based on the book of the same title written by William G. Borchert, a close personal friend of the Wilsons. The film will star Wynona Ryder as Lois Wilson and Barry Pepper as Bill Wilson, the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. Mr. Borchert long felt that the story of Al-Anon was an important one to tell, in particular Lois Wilson’s heroic role in the founding of Al-Anon. In addition to being a story about the founding of Al-Anon, the movie is a true love story, and has the potential to be an inspiration to millions of people everywhere. The movie will air on CBS.
