Music Division
Jon Newsom (Chief of the Music Division) provided subject expertise and administrative support for Band Music from the Civil War Era. The Web site is largely based on Mr. Newsom's research project that resulted in the article "The American Brass Band Movement" (Quarterly Journal of the Library of Congress 36, no. 2 [Spring 1997]) and the LP sound recording Our Musical Past: A Concert for Brass Band, Voice, and Piano (Washington, D.C.: Library of Congress, 1976, OMP 101-102).
Music Division Instrument Collection
Robert Sheldon (Curator of Musical Instruments) participated in the recording of the LP Our Musical Past. Mr. Sheldon provided subject expertise during the production of this online collection.
National Digital Library Program Music Team
Morgan Cundiff (Senior Digital Conversion Specialist) served as project leader and was responsible for project planning, Web site structure, bibliographic data conversion, and digitizing and editing audio files.
David Arbury (Digital Conversion Specialist) was responsible for scanning production and quality review, derivative image creation, file-system management, and photograph research. In addition, Mr. Arbury created all of the full-score, modern editions using Finale music notation software.
Sue Manus (Digital Conversion Specialist) assisted with framework text, copyright issues, and publicity.
