The Acquisition Rewards and Recognition Program
The General Services Administration through its Federal Acquisition Institute established an Acquisition Rewards and Recognition Program, to increase the visibility of innovative acquisition processes and to improve the sharing of information about successful practices. This is a governmentwide recognition program that publicly acknowledges the best and brightest in the acquisition workforce.

American Planning Association (APA) Federal Planning Awards
To recognize excellence in federal planning, the American Planning Association (APA) Federal Planning Division (FPD) sponsors this award. FPD has the following six award categories:
- Outstanding Federal Planning Program
- Outstanding Federal Planning Project
- Area Development Plan
- Environmental Planning Excellence
- Outstanding Sustainable Planning, Design, or Development Initiative

Arthur S. Flemming Awards
Sponsored by the George Washington University and Government Executive Magazine, in conjunction with the Arthur S. Flemming Awards Commission, to recognize those who have performed outstanding and meritorious work for the Federal Government; to encourage high standards of performance in Federal Government; to enhance appreciation of our form of government and the opportunities and responsibilities that it presents; and to attract outstanding persons to the Federal Government. Twelve separate awards will be made. Four awards will be made to individuals in the scientific or technical fields (Scientific), four to individuals in administrative or executive fields (Administrative), and four to individuals in information and technology fields (Applied Science).
Nominees may include anyone with no more than fifteen years of Government service who is an Executive Branch career Federal employee as of Dec. 31 of the year in which nominated. Awards will be made to individual Government employees who have made outstanding contributions to public service on either a sustained basis or through a single exceptional accomplishment during the past two years. Individuals previously nominated but not selected for a Flemming Award may be renominated.

Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) Public Service Awards
GEICO annually honors four Federal employees and one Federal retiree for their special achievements and contributions to public service. Award winners receive $2,500 prizes and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. Employees are honored in four categories: substance abuse prevention and treatment; fire prevention and safety; physical rehabilitation; and traffic safety and accident prevention. The retiree is selected for making contributions in one of the four categories.

William T. Pecora Award
Sponsored jointly by the Department of the Interior and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to recognize outstanding contributions of individuals or groups in understanding the earth by means of remote sensing. An individual award recognizes achievements in the scientific and technical remote sensing community, as well as contributions leading to successful practical applications of remote sensing. Consideration will be given to sustained career achievements or singular contributions of major importance to the field of remote sensing.
