What is the Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE)?

OCSE partners with federal, state, tribal and local governments and others to promote parental responsibility so that children receive support from both parents even when they live in separate households.

Child support programs have demonstrated that innovative strategies, customer-focused services, and advanced technology can improve the reliability of child support payments, particularly for low-income families. Collecting support every month depends on employment for noncustodial parents, cooperation between parents, and the parents’ emotional connection with their children.
