Mr. Martin Pursley serves as the Veterans Employment Program Manager within the Department of the Interior (DOI). In this role, he is responsible for promoting employment opportunites for veterans, consistent with Executive Order 13518. Mr. Pursley previously served as the Senior Advisor to the Associate Director for Human Capital at United States Geological Survey (USGS).
Mr. Pursley retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years service. His military service included active duty, reserve and military technician assignments with U.S. Special Forces, Psychological Operations, Civil Affairs, Recruiting and Transportation. He holds a Master of Science degree in Management from Regis University in Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Regis University.
Mr. Pursley is a graduate of the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) Program Class of 2007. He has served on many committees and led several initiatives, including designing and implementing a competency management strategy for the Department of the Interior, which included leading a multi-agency Federal Competency Management Workgroup.
