Railroad Packages, 1849 - 1901
12 multi-page documents have been digitized from this series. The records relate to surveys, routes and rights of way, land appointments of commissioners and Government railroad directors, finances, plus many additional subjects. Included are reports, letters received, copies of letters sent, opinions, decisions, certificates, minutes, affidavits, petitions, assignments, mortgages, briefs, memorandums, maps, appointments, oaths of office, estimates, inventories, and vouchers. These materials are held by NARA's Civilian Records(College Park, MD).
Search Hint: To retrieve the 12 multi-page digitized documents:
1. Go to http://www.archives.gov/research/arc/.
2. Press the Yellow search button to go to the Archival Descriptions Search screen.
3. To search only for archival descriptions that have digital copies, click the Digital Copies search button at the top of the ARC pages.
4. Enter Lands and railroads division in the Keywords box.
5. Select the limit results radio button for 100.
6. Press the Go button.
7. When hits are returned for your search, view the full result of your hit by selecting the Title link.

Engineering Field Notes of ICC Parties Surveying the Physical Property of Railroads, 1914 - 1929
1 multi-page document has been digitized from this series. The engineering field notes include written notes concerning construction specifications, engineering drawings and blueprints, and sometimes photographs concerning grading ballast, ties, track, and structures owned by the railroads in the continental U.S. The bridge and building notes are high quality, contain detailed descriptions of structures and are frequently supplemented by drawings and photographs. These materials are held by NARA's Civilian Records(College Park, MD).
