NAIC Seeks Editor for Journal of Insurance Regulation

The NAIC is seeking applicants for the editorship of the Journal of Insurance Regulation (JIR), its peer review publication for opinion and discussion of major regulatory and public policy issues in insurance. The JIR provides state insurance departments, industry and other parties cutting-edge, high-quality research on topics in the regulation arena. Typical articles include opinion pieces, in-depth legal studies, economic analyses, public policy analyses and empirical studies.

Ben Nelson Named NAIC CEO
Former Senator Brings Executive, Legislative and Regulatory Experience to Role

Former Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson has been named Chief Executive Officer of the NAIC.

Nelson will lead the NAIC’s efforts to meet the needs of its members and represent their interests as the primary advocate and chief spokesperson in Washington, D.C. His responsibilities will include outreach to federal and international governmental entities, as well as state government associations, consumers and insurance industry representatives.
