Sports Regulation
There is no federal agency that regulates sports activities, but you may consult several organizations for information on sports and fitness:
- National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) - The governing body for athletic programs on college and university campuses.
- National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) - Governs high school competition and publishes playing rules for various sports.
- U.S. Olympic Committee - Supports U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
- Special Olympics - Supports athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
