Human Research Protection

The Program for Research Integrity Development & Education (PRIDE) is responsible for all policy development and guidance, and all training and education in human research protection throughout the VA.

Cyberseminars

VA HSR&D's cyberseminars provide state-of-the art training and special interest sessions. Topic areas include: health economics, clinical informatics, databases and methods, implementation, Women's Health, Evidenced-based Synthesis Program Series, and special topic interests.

Postdoctoral Fellowships in Health Services Research

In collaboration with VHA Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA), HSR&D sponsors post-doctoral and post-residency training programs at OAA-approved training sites for fellowships in health services research and medical informatics. See details.


National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research: Seminars and Conferences

The National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research (NCRAR) presents monthly seminars presented by renowned scientists from around the world. In addition NCRAR hosts an international conference every two years in Portland, Oregon, bringing together clinical researchers and practicing audiologists in an interactive format with the goal of translating research findings into practice. The VA Limb Loss Prevention and Prosthetic Engineering Center provides lectures, seminars, conferences and other educational activities.

VA Center of Excellence in Functional Electrical Stimulation: Seminars

VA Center of Excellence in Functional Electrical Stimulation provides educational opportunities through its seminar series.

Non-Profit Research and Education Corporation (NPC) Board Governance Training

VA-Affiliated Non-Profit Research and Education Corporation (NPC) board governance training is available in two formats:

1. NPC Board Governance Training Manual

2. DVD video training in three parts. Governance training DVDs have been distributed to all medical centers with NPCs and to all OGC Regional Counsel Offices. Copies are available from the NPC Program Office.

This training is mandatory for all statutory VA board members (the facility director, Chief of Staff and ACOS R&D and ACOS Education) and is strongly recommended for all other board members and NPC administrative staff.
