ORI Updates

Based on the admission of the respondent, ORI found that Dr. Bryan William Doreian, engaged in research misconduct in research supported by National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), grant T32 HL07887 and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), NIH, grant R01 NS052123.

ORI found that Dr. Rao M. Adibhatla, Assistant Professor, Department of Neurological Surgery, University of Wisconsin, engaged in research misconduct by falsifying results in two publications

With the success of this program, ORI has joined forces with the Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) to pursue the development of a second training product. This time, the focus is on clinical research and social science research. 

ORI found that Shuang-Qing Zhang engaged in research misconduct by the falsification and fabrication of plagiarized data .

ORI found that Terry Elton engaged in research misconduct by fabricating and/or falsifying data in several grants and publications.

ORI found that Paul Muchkowski engaged in research misconduct by falsifying data in an NIH-funded grant and two NIH grant proposals.

ORI devotes entire newsletter issues to the topic of plagiarism.

ORI found that the Respondent engaged in research misconduct by falsifying and/or fabricating data that were included in ten (10) published papers, one (1) submitted manuscript, seven (7) grant applications, and three (3) progress reports over a period of ten (10) years.

A new program, RePAIR (Restoring Professionalism and Integrity in Research), provides remedial training for researchers who have engaged in misconduct or questionable research practices.
