Ship of Old Weather logs

Start transcribing on Oldweather.org

In partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Archives has made available digitized historic Navy, Coast Guard and Revenue Cutter ship logs dating between the pre-Civil War period through World War II.

You can transcribe these records on Oldweather.org, an online citizen science project. Your efforts at transcribing ship logs will help scientists recover Arctic and worldwide weather observations by United States ships. The transcriptions will contribute to climate model projections and will improve our knowledge of past environmental conditions.
