FPD National Survey AAAOM ANNUAL SURVEY 2012

Thanks to the participants of the First Annual Survey, the American Association for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) has received valuable input and perspective that will be used as the basis of our ongoing efforts to represent the AOM profession. The survey was distributed to approximately 23,000 individuals, of whom 1,655 responded.

This survey has provided important information about sensitive topics facing our profession. Adequately defined items that received clear responses may continue to be used in future surveys. Inadequately defined questions that received unclear responses will be modified and may be investigated further in future surveys. All of the information gathered will become part of a follow-up survey to be conducted in approximately six months.

Please note: the attached results are preliminary. A final analysis and interpretation of the data, including the practice and membership information collected, is underway and will be released to you shortly.  Any personally identifiable information submitted has already been separated out of the data being analyzed. Your information will remain completely confidential and will not be shared with a third party.

Please click here (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2012SurveyFeedback) if you would like to submit any questions, comments, or concerns regarding this survey or future surveys. We are collecting this information so we can address issues of importance to the profession with greater precision moving forward.

The AAAOM thanks the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®) and the Council of Colleges for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) for their assistance in distributing the survey. The AAAOM also thanks the Education Committee members and contributors who diligently worked around the clock to craft the analysis of the standards, the survey, and the preliminary survey analysis. The AAAOM will notify the membership via email when the final analysis has been completed.

Thank you for your willingness to contribute your time and expertise to the advancement of our profession. We hope you will continue to participate in this important process.

Rally Congress

The Supreme Court has ruled, ACA is constitutional.

But what does it mean for us? Our friends at CSOMA explain "acupuncture parity" which is good news for Californians, but with lessons for every state.

Acupuncture as an Essential Health Benefit

Want to see acupuncture covered by your insurance policy?

So do we, and our letter writing campaign has greatly assisted our efforts to be included as an Essential Health Benefit. A big THANK YOU goes out to everybody who helped!

Our letter writing campaign is preparing for the next round, possibly in the next few months. If you would still like to write a letter expressing your desire for acupuncture being designated as an essential health benefit, you can still do so by simply clicking HERE to open a pre-written email message right now.

CEU Submission

Announce your CEU or JOB-OPENING

Many AAAOM members are subscribed to new announcements, and of course they look for them here at the website. This is a free service, but you'll need your NCCAOM or CAB provider indentification number for CEU announcements.
