We are excited to announce the release of National Birth Center Study II,  a landmark study published in the Journal of Midwifery and Women's Health which highlights the benefits for women who seek are at midwife-led birth centers. Read About It HERE.

We are a multi-disciplinary membership organization comprised of individuals and organizations who support the birth center concept. 

Birth Centers uphold the rights of healthy women and their families, in all communities, to birth their children in an environment which is safe, sensitive and cost effective with minimal intervention.

AABC Leads Successful National Grant Award with 48 Local Birth Center Sites

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation announced that American Association of Birth Centers has been awarded a $5.35 million four year grant for the Strong Start for Mothers and Newborns Initiative to measure outcomes and costs from enhanced prenatal care in birth centers for women enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP who are at risk of having a preterm birth.  » READ MORE

Congressional Briefing Hails Cost Savings of Birth Centers

Washington, DC—Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard hosted a congressional briefing on a newly released study by the American Association of Birth Centers (AABC) that shows women who receive care at midwife-led birth centers incur lower medical costs and are less likely to have cesarean births compared to women who give birth at hospitals.
