The more we honor cultural differences in eating, the healthier we will be. (Michael Pollan) Oldways created the original Mediterranean Diet Pyramid in 1993. Now our family of Heritage Pyramids has grown to also include Asian, Latino, Vegetarian and African Heritage pyramids. Each one features a different traditional healthy eating pattern, showing at a glance the balance of real foods that support good health.

We advocate for the healthful pleasures of real food – food that’s both good-tasting and good for us. Life is too short to eat anything that isn’t good in both senses of the word!
