African American History and the PresidencyBlack History Month and President�s Day are celebrated annually in February. It is a time for all of us to reflect on the many contributions African-Americans have made to the American way of life, as well a time to honor all of the Presidents of the United States. This year is especially significant, in that America witnessed an historical event that touches on both African-American history and the Presidency. On November 4, 2008, America elected its first African-American President, Barack Obama.
