Interactive Data Filings and RSS Feeds

Interactive Data Submitted under the Interactive Data Disclosure Rules

To view interactive data submissions made as part of the new interactive data disclosure rules through the SEC's Rendering Engine, a user can conduct a search for a company by clicking on the following link, http://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/webusers.htm. If a company has submitted interactive data, a blue interactive data button will be available for you to click on to access the Rendering Engine for this particular company.

SEC RSS Feeds

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed files for EDGAR XBRL and Interactive Data submissions are now available to the public on the SEC web site. These files are updated frequently to contain link information and meta data (company name, accession number, CIK, filing date, form type, file number) for XBRL filings that have been accepted by EDGAR.

RSS (which also stands for RDF Site Summary and Rich Site Summary) is an open XML-based standard for news syndication. It can be consumed by standard RSS readers or custom-built applications to automatically access standardized and up-to-date web information without necessarily having to use a browser.

The EDGAR RSS feed files contain links to and meta data for EDGAR XBRL documents. This information can be subsequently consumed by applications that view, analyze and manipulate the XBRL tagged data contained in these documents.

These RSS files are available on the SEC web site:

  1. http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/usgaap.rss.xml — This is a list of the most recent 100 Interactive Data documents submitted under the "Interactive Data to Improve Financial Reporting" rule (Release No. 33-9002) using US GAAP as the base taxonomy, updated every 10 minutes.

  2. http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/xbrl-rr.rss.xml — This is a list of the most recent 100 Interactive Data documents submitted under the "Interactive Data for Mutual Fund Risk/Return Summary" rule (Release No. 33-9006) using RR 2010 as the base taxonomy, updated every 10 minutes.

  3. http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/xbrlrss.all.xml — This is a list of up to 100 of all the latest filings containing XBRL tagged data, updated every 10 minutes.

For a monthly, historical archive of all filings with XBRL exhibits submitted to the SEC beginning with the inception of the voluntary program in 2005, go to http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/monthly/. Each monthly archive contains a complete set of all interactive data filings received during that month across all programs.

Please note that the contents and format of these RSS files may change without prior notice.
