ICE, PRPD seize 225 kilograms of cocaine in eastern Puerto Rico
Contraband has an estimated street value of $4.5 million

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents working jointly with Puerto Rico Police Department's (PRPD) seized 225 kilograms of cocaine Tuesday from a residence in Humacao on the eastern coast of Puerto Rico with an estimated street value of $4.5 million.

As part of a joint ICE HSI-PRPD investigation, agents arrived at a residence located in Villa Humacao to execute a federal search warrant.

During the execution of the search warrant, ICE special agents noted 205 bricks of a powdery white substance that tested positive for cocaine, as well as 10 small bags which later tested positive for marijuana during a field test.

Although there were no arrests associated with the seizure, the ICE HSI investigation continues.

ICE HSI agents have extensive knowledge of techniques employed by smuggling organizations to transport contraband into the United States. This expertise has been gained through years of experience in conducting undercover operations, utilizing confidential informants, special enforcement operations and conducting contraband smuggling investigations.
