U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents uncovered a smuggling operation at the Port of Baltimore involving counterfeit shoes, handbags and watches. This week, three conspirators involved in the operation pleaded guilty. Full Story
ICE hosted a news conference in Miami to announce enforcement efforts by the Miami Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST). The Miami BEST recently uncovered that a group of longshoremen helped smuggle millions of dollars of cocaine, heroin and marijuana into the United States through the Port of Miami and Port Everglades. Eduardo Dozzi Barbugli was convicted of conspiracy, visa fraud and alien smuggling. An ICE HSI investigation revealed that he was involved in an elaborate scheme that allowed more than 1,000 illegal aliens to enter and remain in the United States using fraudulently obtained H-2B employment-based visas. ICE HSI agents conducted a worksite investigation at S&S Bakery in San Diego. They determined that the bakery owner, Jesse William Fadick, along with four of his bakery staff, knowingly hired more than 12 undocumented workers during a 12-month period. Full Story
ICE seized 82 websites that sold counterfeit goods and copyrighted works as part of Operation in Our Sites II. Many of these sites claimed to be affiliated with name brands like Coach, Louis Vuitton and Timberland. However, in reality, there was nothing real or genuine about any of them. Full Story
