WASHINGTON — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today reminds organizations to submit a letter of intent if applying for the FY2010 Citizenship and Integration Grant Program.  Organizations must submit the mandatory letter by March 26, 2010 to be eligible to apply for funding.

Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2010, and may be found online at www.grants.gov. For updates and information about the citizenship and integration grants, please continue to check the USCIS grants Web page at www.uscis.gov/grants. Additional information may also be found on the new ‘Questions and Answers: Fiscal Year 2010 Citizenship and Integration Grant Program document’, also found at www.uscis.gov/grants.

USCIS has two competitive grant opportunities. The Citizenship and Integration Direct Services Grant Program (DHS-10-CIS-010-003) will strengthen locally-based citizenship preparation programs. The Citizenship and Integration National Capacity Building Grant Program (DHS-10-CIS-010-002) will increase the capacity of members or affiliates of national, regional, or state-wide organizations to offer citizenship services in underserved communities. A total of 50 awards are expected and recipients will be announced in September 2010.
