USCIS Launches Spanish-Language Engagement Series: Fact Sheet

Introduction

On October 28, 2010, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducted the first in a series of quarterly public engagements in Spanish as part of ongoing efforts to communicate with the many communities USCIS serves.

Background

USCIS is expanding its outreach to Spanish-language speakers through a series of quarterly engagements via webinars, teleconferences, and in-person engagements. Each session will focus on a specific immigration or citizenship topic and include a live question-and-answer session with USCIS officials. 

This series underscores USCIS’s commitment to provide timely information on the benefits and services available to the public.

“Cómo puedo navegar por USCIS” Series

This series of engagements will provide agency updates and help customers understand how best to navigate through USCIS. Emphasis will be placed on highlighting resources available on the Spanish-language website at www.uscis.gov/espanol. Some of our online resources include:

• How to help a relative become a legal permanent resident
• How to access forms and general information
• How to use the My Case Status online tool
• How to make an appointment to speak with an officer at a local field office.

The first engagement in this series was held on October 28, 2010, from 1:00PM to 2:30PM (EST). The theme was “How to Help Your Relative Become a Legal Permanent Resident.” Individuals can learn how to participate in future events by visiting www.uscis.gov/enlace or by calling toll-free at 1-800-375-5283.
