The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council announced today the appointment by the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) of Harold E. Feeney, Texas Credit Union Commissioner, to the Council's State Liaison Committee (SLC). He will replace Sandra Branson, Director, Missouri Division of Credit Unions, whose term has expired.

Commissioner Feeney has served in his present role since 1996 and is responsible for chartering, regulating, and supervising state-chartered credit unions in Texas. He is actively involved in the professional association for state credit union regulators, NASCUS, serving in various capacities on committees and the Board of Directors, including a term as Chairman. Commissioner Feeney has also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the National Institute for State Credit Union Examination. His two-year term as a member of the SLC will commence April 1, 2009 and continue through March 31, 2011.

The Council also announces the that American Council of State Savings Supervisors has reappointed Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending Commissioner Douglas Foster and the Conference of State Bank Supervisors has reappointed Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance Director John Munn. Their two-year terms begin April 1, 2009 and continue through March 31, 2011.
