In 2007 Marie-Audrey obtained her Master's degree in cellular and integrated neurosciences at the University Louis Pasteur of Strasbourg, France. In December 2008, she joined N-NRL as part of the NIH Graduate Partnership Program (GPP). She will conduct part of her training and research work in N-NRL laboratory under Dr. Anand Swaroop's supervision. Her training and research project will be completed at the Institut des Neurosciences Cellulaires et Integratives of Strasbourg, France, in the laboratory of Dr. David Hicks under the supervision of the Dr. M-P Felder-Schmitbuhl.

Her graduate thesis project focuses on elucidating the transcriptional regulation of the transcription factor Neural Retina Leucine zipper (NRL). Her aim is to understand the role of conserved regions in nrl promoter. She investigates whether these conserved regions play an important role in Nrl transcription regulation during retinal development.
