My interest is as a student learning to be a substance abuse counselor. I really like your resource center, and it is helping me a great deal with my education. I am also in recovery for 3 years now and want to help others who are suffering.

CONGRATULATIONS, Without the collaboration of the Foundation's Board of Directors and extensive Addictions Science Advisory and Public Relations Board, SAMHSA might not exist today. CSAT and CSAP would never do the outstanding things they do. The NATTC, here at UMKC, would not likely have taken shape and broadened the scope of science and clinical evidence based translational research understanding. The Regional ATTC Training Centers that carry the technical information to all who work in the addictions field would not be available to all. Once SAMHSA got up and running and the pilot ATC at UMKC was a success, NARF members' work was done. Although many of our membership are gone, we wish you God's Speed in your next 20 years. As a Professional Addictions Futurist I am projecting 2025 to be the year in which we can all say, we are now able to cure addiction through genetic and epigenetic processes. Regards

As someone who was directly involved in the events described in this pub, I was totally mystified at the "history" it purported to describe. SAMHSA does a serious disservice to the field by such misrepresentation of history.
