In need of housing advice? The Housing Counseling Assistance Program funds housing counseling agencies throughout the country that can give you advice on buying a home, renting, defaults, foreclosures, credit issues and reverse mortgages. Looking for affordable housing? The HUD Public Housing Program provides decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families. Public housing comes in all sizes and types, from scattered single family houses to high-rise apartments for the elderly.

Searching for a new home? HUD Homes for Sale is a program offering 1-to-4 unit residential property acquired by HUD as a result of a foreclosure action on a Federal Housing Administration (FHA)-insured mortgage. HUD becomes the property owner and offers the HUD Home for sale to recover the loss on the foreclosure claim.

Are you a law enforcement officer, firefighter, emergency medical technician, or teacher? If so, the Good Neighbor Next Door Sales Program may help you purchase a home in a HUD revitalization area by offering qualified purchasers a 50 percent discount off the list price of homes available from HUD's inventory.
