Program

Name CCCOnline Early Childhood Education Program

Description The Early Childhood Education Program is designed to prepare people to work with young children in a variety of settings. The Group Leader and Director Certifications are designed to meet the educational requirements established by the Colorado Department of Human Services. Group Leader in Licensed Child Care Certificate leads to eligibility for the Level 1 ECE Credential. Director Certificate leads to eligibility for Level 2 ECE Professional Credential.
Total Credits Required Group Leader Certification requires 15-16 credit hours -- 5 courses plus 9 months of verified work experience. Director Certification requires 24-25 credit hours -- 8 courses plus 2 years verified work experience in the field.

Prerequisites

Education Students without high school degree or GED may be admitted as special students and have special requirements to meet. All new students are required to take an approved math and Enlgish placement test with exceptions listed on the site. Must be a registered Colorado Community College student.

Articulation Agreements

Institution The credits you earn toward these certificates will transfer to any of the 13 Colorado Community College System schools where you can pursue a two-year associate degree. You can also use those credits toward a bachelor’s degree at any public four-year college or university in Colorado.
