Theme

Now more than ever, Head Start leaders must make the best use of data to improve program services for children and families. Leaders must use effective systems to collect, document, analyze, interpret, and use data to make decisions to ensure quality services that promote school readiness and continuous program improvement.

Goals

The overarching purpose of the Institute is to support Head Start leaders in their efforts to promote school readiness within systems and services that are data-driven. The Institute goals to promote data-driven leadership include:

  1. Promote leadership for ensuring quality teaching and learning; parent, family, and community engagement; comprehensive health services; and program management and fiscal accountability.
  2. Advance leadership and program practices to integrate cultural and linguistic responsiveness across systems and services.
  3. Increase leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities for promoting positive child outcomes from birth to five across all settings and program options.
  4. Provide effective leadership tools for supporting family outcomes and systemic, integrated, and comprehensive family engagement.
