New From NCFY: Promoting Safety for Runaway and Homeless Youth

tags:

In a new issue of The Exchange, NCFY's quarterly periodical for youth workers, we focus on ways to improve safety for runaway and homeless youth. First, we look at runaway prevention practices, meant to keep youth off the street and in their homes whenever possible. Next, we address the particular safety needs of sexually trafficked youth while they are getting help from social service providers. And last, we look at best practices for keeping youth safe after they leave a runaway and homeless youth program.

The issue is the third in a series on the four outcomes the Family and Youth Services Bureau believes are the most crucial for runaway and homeless youth. Past issues of the Exchange have dealt with well-being and permanent connections. The final issue in the series will address how youth-serving agencies can build self-sufficiency in runaway and homeless youth.
