GIS Activities
The EGS mission is to direct the efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable use of GIS technology throughout the FEMA. EGS activities are structured to advance geospatial technology and services. These activities serve to make GIS an integral component of agency business units and a key component of the FEMA enterprise architecture.EGS investments supply GIS technology and services to field offices and advance teams through the Deployable Emergency GIS Suites program; geospatial software, processing and brokering services through the Enterprise GIS Services program; common operating GIS data and map symbology through the Geospatial Data program; and GIS analysis and emerging technology assessment through the Mapping & Analysis Center.
