February, 2011 Update: Victory Park is rededicated annually by the 1st Infantry Division as a culmination of Victory Week celebrations around Fort Riley. With their Families on-hand, the names of the Division�s fallen Soldiers from the previous year are read aloud and a bell is ringed one time for each. As of the most recent celebration in July 2010, 476 stones lie in the park as a silent tribute to their sacrifice.

June, 2008 Update: As part of the July 14-19 Victory Week celebrations, Victory Park was re-dedicated in a ceremony July 17, 2008.  The Park is at the 1st Infantry Division's headquarters building on Fort Riley.

Victory Park is meant to honor the 1^st Infantry Division�s fallen Soldiers, former Danger 6s and 7s, Big Red One alumni and Fort Riley and the Central Flint Hills Region community partners who have positively impacted our division. These individuals are memorialized on stones [Learn more, Memorial Stone Purchase Information] in Victory Park, which sits adjacent to our headquarters building.

1^st Infantry Division Soldiers dedicated the Fallen Soldier Memorial at Victory Park on Leighton Barracks, Wurzburg, Germany on June 6, 2005. The monument was erected to honor the 193 Task Force Danger Soldiers, Marines and Airmen who gave their lives during Operation Iraqi Freedom I and II, and the Global War on Terrorism.

A walkway leading to the statue features 193 engraved marble plaques, one for each of the 193 1^st ID and Task Force Danger service members who made the supreme sacrifice.  The base of the statue is constructed of granite; framing a quotation from Franklin D. Roosevelt as well as Psalm 91, versus 11 and 13, �The Soldiers Psalm�.
