NCFY Recommends: College Resources for Undocumented Students

A new guide (PDF, 1 MB) from the College Board, the organization that administers the SATs and the AP courses and exams for high school students, brings together dozens of resources for undocumented students who want to attend college in the United States.

Fourteen states now allow undocumented students to pay in-state tuition, and a few states allow them to access state financial aid. "Repository of Resources for Undocumented Students" includes information about 11 of the 14 states (the other three states will be included in a future edition). Readers will find:

• requirements undocumented students need to fulfill before they can qualify for in-state tuition, such as attending a high school in the state for a minimum number of years
• sample forms similar to those undocumented students must fill out in some states to qualify for in-state tuition
• lists of organizations that award scholarships to non-citizens in each state
