Louis DeFalaise has served as the Director of OARM since June, 2002. Mr. DeFalaise’s distinguished career at the United States Department of Justice includes 12 years of service as the Senior Counsel to the Director, and 2 months as the Acting Director, Executive Office for United States Attorneys, Washington, D.C. Prior to relocating to the nation’s capital, Mr. DeFalaise served for 10 years as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Mr. DeFalaise brought a wealth of legal experience to the Department, including 6 years as the State Representative, 63rd District of Kentucky (1975 to 1981) and in private practice at Adams, Brooking & Stepner, Covington, Kentucky (1974 to 1981). Mr. DeFalaise’s demonstrated commitment to public service includes a term on the Kenton County Kentucky Public Defender Roster and 18 months as an Assistant United States Attorney, Eastern District of Kentucky, immediately following graduation from law school at the University of Kentucky in 1971.
