NCFY Recommends: Finding Federal Funds

tags:

Finding funding can be daunting. Finding funding that aligns perfectly with your program's mission can seem almost impossible. To make the task a little easier, two federal entities have developed tools to help human services organizations find the programs that fit and maximize their chances of being funded.

Grants.gov on FindYouthInfo.gov: This custom search tool allows youth workers to search Grants.gov, the online database of federal funding opportunities, by youth-related topic or federal agency. Topics include bullying, community development, transition-age youth, and afterschool programs. FindYouthInfo.gov is a project of the Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs.

United States Interagency Council on Homelessness Funding and Programs List: The list outlines which federal departments have programs that help prevent and end homelessness. It includes so-called "mainstream programs" that are available to all low-income persons as well as programs specifically designed to assist homeless youth, adults and families or to prevent homelessness.

Youth workers can also find funding opportunities, both federal and private, here on the NCFY website.
