Abstract: A report on the 2010 AAS Symposium held November 16-18, 2010, in Phoenix, AZ, indicates it was an opportunity for AAS partners to consider whether they have a plan in place or if they must improve their current plan. Also, the AAS Training and Technical Assistance Program staff reviewed all U.S. and Canadian AAS plans over the past 7 years in order to examine how they have evolved. In another segment, the newsletter reports on a case study in which a father with a history of domestic violence and drug abuse abducted a daughter from the custodial mother, after attacking his wife and 10-year-old son. The AAS reached across three States to rescue the abducted girl. The newsletter also describes how Lt. Charles Fleeger of the College Station Police Department (Texas) provided leadership in establishing the Texas Region 3 AMBER Alert Plan for seven counties. The newsletter also reports on the Family Roundtable discussions at the 2010 AAS symposium. The participating family members shared their experiences and recommended guidelines they believed would help AAS partners during child abductions. In addition, the newsletter reports on 2010 AMBER Alert award winners. News is provided on the development of AASs in other countries as well as Indian Country in the United States. The newsletter concludes with brief mentions of training dates and other events related to the AAS.
