Charleston, SC – Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) today announced a number of senior staff hires in both his Washington, DC and South Carolina state offices.

"I am very proud of the team we are assembling," said Senator Scott.  "These new hires bring an incredible range of talent to the office.  Their wealth of political, legislative, and management experience will be invaluable as we work to serve South Carolina and unleash new opportunities for American families."

Rich Dunn has been named Chief of Staff.  Most recently, Dunn served as Political Director at the National Republican Senatorial Committee, where he provided strategic political counsel to U.S. Senate candidates during the 2010 and 2012 cycles.  Prior to joining the NRSC staff, Dunn was a top aide at the Club for Growth in 2009.  He served previously as Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Legislative Director for then-Congressman Chris Chocola (R-IN). Dunn also managed Chocola's successful re-election campaign in 2004.  A native of Bloomington, Illinois, he holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Jennifer DeCasper continues in her role as Deputy Chief of Staff, which she also held in the Senator’s House office. DeCasper previously served as Deputy District Attorney for Colorado’s 18th Judicial District, and as an aide to former Senator Wayne Allard (R-CO). She is a native of Colorado Springs, CO, and holds a law degree from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree from Mesa State College.

Joe McKeown, who served as Chief of Staff in Senator Scott's House office, will be Executive Director.  McKeown, a Mount Pleasant resident, managed Senator Scott's successful bid for Congress and has been involved in his campaigns for over fifteen years.  He resigned from the Charleston County Council, where he served concurrently with Senator Scott, to join his House staff in 2010.  McKeown holds a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina.

Kimberly Wallner will be the Senator's Legislative Director.  Wallner joins the office after serving as Legislative Director to former Senator Jim DeMint.  A native of Greenville, she joined the staff of then-Congressman DeMint in 2003 and has served in various capacities during his time in the House of Representatives and the Senate.  Prior to becoming Senator DeMint's Legislative Director, Wallner served as a Policy Analyst on the Senate Steering Committee.  She holds a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University.

Matt Moore, of Columbia, will be State Director.  Over the past two years, Moore served as Executive Director of the South Carolina Republican Party.  He is a former Deputy Political Director at the Republican Governors Association and Deputy Director at the Georgia Republican Party.  Previously, he was Executive Director of the South Carolina Club for Growth, and has advised multiple statewide campaigns on technology and grassroots mobilization.  Moore holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech.
