Description
- Mission:
To foster excellence in ophthalmic patient care while supporting the ophthalmic team through individual development, education, and evidence based practice.
- Membership/Affiliates:
Regular members include Registered Nurses (RNs) in office, clinic, community health, management, research, and surgical settings.
Affiliate members include Licensed Practical and Vocational Nurses, Certified Surgical Technologists, and Certified/Noncertified Ophthalmic Medical Personnel who are committed to fostering the ophthalmic team concept and collaboration among all who work in our specialty, and are NOT RNs.
Retired RN members include regular and affiliate members, ages 62 and older, who are interested in ophthalmic patient care but have retired from active practice, and now have been ASORN members for at least two years immediately prior to retiring from active nursing practice.

ASORN provides information on certification, continuing education, scholarships and grants.

ASORN annual meeting. Three ASORN regional meetings.
