Description
- Mission:
The Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) is a nonprofit educational association representing the interests of optometric education. ASCO is committed to achieving excellence in optometric education and to helping its member schools prepare well-qualified graduates for entrance into the profession of optometry.
- Membership/Affiliates:
ASCO has 21 optometric schools and colleges of optometry in the United States, two Canadian schools, and a number of foreign schools and associations.
- Programs/Activities:
ASCO coordinates linkages with social service agencies and healthcare providers; develops provider networks at many of the schools and colleges of optometry; and helps develop community outreach programs that include health education and promotion of healthy lifestyles.
