Dear Herbert Hoover Library Staff & Rangers,
Thank you for allowing me to visit the library. My favorite site was the Quaker Meetinghouse. Herbert Hoover had to be quiet and sit still in Quaker meetings. On special occasions, special meetings were held. There, the windows were closed and women would talk privately and so would the men. If babies would cry, they’d be sent to the cry room. Boys would sit with their mothers if they couldn’t sit still. Women sat on separate sides for independence. Thank you for your time and effort!

Dear Herbert Hoover Library & Rangers,
Thank you for allowing me to come visit the library. My favorite exhibit was the Quaker Meetinghouse. I learned that the women and men sat on different sides. I like the Statue of the Goddess of Isis because she looked into your future. It was a gift to Herbert Hoover. Thank you for letting me eat inside rather than outside in the cold.

Dear Herbert Hoover Library Staff & Ranger,
Thank you for allowing me to tour the library. I liked the gravesight, but my favorite was the Quaker Meetinghouse. I learned that women and men are in separate rooms and there is a cry room for little babies or kids.
Thank you for letting us eat in the auditorium, since it was too cold outside to eat. The auditorium was like a movie theater.

Thank you for allowing me to come enjoy the library. My favorite , favorite thing was the gravesite because I learned that Lou and Herbert were buried close by each other, and it was a very peaceful place.

Dear Herbert Hoover Library Staff & Ranger,
Thank you for letting me visit the library. My favorite spot was the Quaker meeting place. I learned that the women and men sit on the OPPOSITE sides and the women would have their own meeting and the men would also. The doors and windows would close and there would be a little slot where they would slide notes through and tell the other side what they were talking about. I also remember the school he went to. It was a one room school for 1st – 8th grades. I also remember his house. It was so small. I wouldn’t be able to live in it.

Dear Herbert Hoover Library & Ranger,
Thank you for allowing me to come visit the library. My favorite place was the Quaker meeting place. I learned that they didn’t have a preacher so the men and women had to sit quietly in their seats and wait for the Spirit to make them feel like they had something important to say. Another thing was that the men and women were separated but if a little boy was not old enough to sit quietly and not talk, the little boy would sit by his mother. Thank you for putting in your time to lead me on the tour.

I didn’t know that you had to sit still the whole time, and that women and men had to sit apart. What’s funny about it was handing the notes through the door. Herbert Hoover had one sister, one brother, and a mom and dad, plus him, so there were a lot of people in that house. I remember the names of his sister and brother. Thank you for everything you did.
