Place any object or transparency on the Sunography fabric, expose it in bright sunlight, and rinse to reveal a rich blue print. Unlike other sun print kits, Sunography is light sensitive on both sides, to make two sided prints.
Sunography fabric is 100% cotton 6 x 6 inch squares, and comes in six assorted colors (violet, lime, turquoise, orange, rose, and white). The fabric produces finely detailed prints that are suitable for tinting or hand coloring with any media and prints can be toned yellow or sepia using rinses with common household liquids.
Sunography is a great platform for creativity. Use old photo negatives, x-rays, bits of lace, leaves, everyday objects or printed transparencies to make designs. A forerunner to the modern photographic process, sunlight sensitive paper (“cyanotype”) was first invented in 1842.
