What: AHRQ's first national summit on health care quality and disparities will bring together national, State, and local experts to discuss ongoing national initiatives and lessons learned from local projects related to the quality of care measures in AHRQ's newly released 2004 National Healthcare Quality Report and 2004 National Healthcare Disparities Report.

When: April 4, 2005, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Where: Renaissance Washington DC Hotel, 999 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC

Who: Carolyn M. Clancy, M.D., Director, AHRQ, will provide an overview of the quality of American health care and will announce new state data available.

The Honorable Mike Huckabee, Governor of Arkansas, will discuss his personal story and key themes from his book, Quit Digging Your Grave with a Knife and Fork.

Other experts will discuss promising national and local health care quality improvement initiatives and efforts to eliminate disparities in care. They include:
