SNAP Outreach

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps low-income Americans buy foods like fruits, vegetables and whole grains that they need for good health. With SNAP, low-income Americans get an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card to buy food at the grocery store. SNAP also has healthy eating and nutrition programs.

The USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service Program works with state and local agencies, advocates, employers, community and faith-based organizations, and others to reach out to eligible low-income citizens who are not currently participating in SNAP. Learn more about outreach here.
