CSAT GPRA Tools - Data Collection: Best Practices
Best Practices (BP) programs are intended to address the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA's) third major goal, which is to bridge the gap between knowledge and practice. The goal of BP programs is to foster the adoption of "best practices" by the field. KA programs are generally assessed on such measures as the number of organizations or individuals reached, the number of individuals trained and deployed, and changes in practice that result from activities conducted under the programs.
As new substance abuse treatment techniques are tested and proven effective, BP programs help substance abuse treatment practitioners adopt them. BP programs disseminate Information to practitioners through technical assistance, trainings, products, and meetings.
