Treatment Options for Postal and Other Workers Exposed to Anthrax

This live satellite and web broadcast will present to postal and other workers the treatment options for prevention of inhalational anthrax for persons who were exposed to anthrax spores and are currently completing 60-day courses of prophylactic antibiotics. An expert from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will review the options for individuals exposed to airborne B. anthracis spores and who may be at risk for inhalational anthrax.

Goal

To provide an update to postal and other workers on the treatment options for prevention of inhalational anthrax for persons exposed to anthrax spores.

Objectives

After the program, participants will be able to:

· Understand the reasons for the new preventive treatment options.

· Understand the information needed to make a decision about treatment options

Postal workers, mail handlers, and other workers
