Tuberculosis: Countries

USAID is working in 40 priority countries to focus its resources, technical assistance, and staffing. Selection criteria for priority countries include:

• High incidence of TB (estimated incidence rates of more than 100/100,000)
• High burden of TB cases (among the list of 22 high burden countries)
• High HIV/AIDS prevalence
• High burden or prevalence of MDR-TB
• Lagging case detection and treatment success rates

The following countries have been identified as priority countries for USAID and its U.S. Government partners:
