Comments and Supporting Statements for PRA Calculations for Open Internet Order (OMB #3060-xxxx and #3060-xxxx)

On February 3, 2011, the Commission published two 60-day notices (see 76 FR 7207 and 76 FR 7206) required by the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of 1995, 44 U.S.C. 3501-3520 for the Open Internet Order in the Federal Register. The Commission received six comments in response. After reviewing those comments, the Commission recently submitted to OMB a supporting statement for the transparency rules of the Open Internet proceeding, and a supporting statement for the formal complaint rules. A 30-day notice of the submission of these rules to OMB was published in the Federal Register (76 FR 39873 (transparency rule) and 76 FR 39871 (formal complaints) (both published July 7, 2011)). OMB's system has not posted the comments or the two supporting statements, so we are posting the comments and the supporting statements on our website to facilitate public access. PRA Comments Filed for MB’s Public Inspection File Collection (OMB #3060-0214)

On April 18, 2011, the Commission published a 60-day notice (see 74 FR 21739) required by the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of 1995, 44 U.S.C. 3501-3520 in the Federal Register. The public comment period ended on June 17, 2011. The notice sought public comments on the information collection requirements approved under OMB control number 3060-0214, Sections 73.3527 and 73.3527, Local Public Inspection Files; Sections 76.1701 and 73.1943, Political Files. Numerous comments were received from the public. Therefore, the Commission is posting the comments on its website instead of submitting them through the OMB/GSA’s electronic submittal system to avoid overloading the system.
