Dun and Bradstreet Number

BeDun and Bradstreet (DUNS) number to apply for a grant or cooperative agreement from the Federal Government. The DUNS number is a nine-digit identification number that uniquely identifies business entities. Obtaining a DUNS number is easy and there is no charge.  To obtain a DUNS number, access the following Webiste: www.dunandbradstreet.com or call 1.866.705.5711. This number should be entered in the block with the applicant's name and address on the cover page of the application (Item 8c on the form SF-424, Application for Federal Assistance). The name and address in the application should be exactly as given for the DUNS number. 

 System for Award Management (SAM)

The applicant must also register in the System for Award management (SAM) database in order to be able to submit the application (www.sam.gov) Information about SAM is available at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/.  Registering an account with SAM is a separate process from submitting an application.
