Together they are committed to upholding U.S. policy toward Cuba, which is focused on encouraging democratic and economic reforms, supporting the development of civil society in Cuba, promoting respect for human rights, and supporting the Cuban people. The U.S. Government continues to take steps to reach out to the Cuban people in support of their desire to freely determine their country’s future.
