USDA Foods Processing
Processing allows States and eligible recipient agencies such as school districts to contract with commercial food processors to convert bulk or raw USDA Foods into more convenient ready-to-use end products. Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)

CSFP works to improve the health of low-income pregnant and breastfeeding women, other new mothers up to one year postpartum, infants, children up to age six, and elderly people at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. Department of Defense (DoD) Fresh Produce Program
Through the Department of Defense Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has been able to offer schools a wider variety of fresh produce than would normally be available through USDA purchases. FD Disaster Assistance
FNS’s Food Distribution Division has the primary responsibility of supplying food to disaster relief organizations such as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army for mass feeding or household distribution. Disaster organizations request food and nutrition assistance through State agencies that run USDA’s nutrition assistance programs. Nutrition Services Incentive Program (NSIP)

The Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, Public Law 108-7, amended the Older Americans Act (OAA) to transfer the Nutrition Services Incentive Program (NSIP) from the USDA to the Administration on Aging (AoA) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The NSIP is intended to provide incentives to States and Tribes for the effective delivery of nutritious meals to older adults. Schools and Child Nutrition (CN) USDA Food Programs (Schools/CNPs)
The USDA's Schools/Child Nutrition USDA Foods Programs support American agricultural producers by providing cash reimbursements for meals served in schools, but also by providing nutritious, USDA-purchased food to the following nutrition programs:
  • National School Lunch Program;

  • Child Food Program and Adult Care; and

  • Summer Food Service Program

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
