Development breakthroughs can come from anywhere—

  • a researcher in a university

  • a local person who has deep contextual knowledge

  • an entrepreneur with a budding startup.

USAID is open to ideas from people passionate about finding innovative solutions to support development goals.

Through an interconnected web of diverse relationships, we encourage the academic, scientific and entrepreneurial communities to pioneer solutions to the most challenging development problems. As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has stated, "We have to make quantum leaps...in order to have the results we seek."

Academics

USAID is continually looking to better harness the creativity and pioneering work of institutions of higher education.

Our aim is to develop and sustain new and more reliably productive collaborations for addressing the challenges of international development.

Help us bring novel and creative solutions from campuses, labs, and institutions to development; and students.

Scientists

USAID provides many opportunities to engage scientists, innovators, and the academic community - administrators, faculty members, and students - interested in international development.

We seek to expand the global scientific community by forming partnerships between U.S. researchers and developing country counterparts.

Private Sector Innovators

USAID seeks to find and grow breakthrough solutions—whether new technologies, new systems, new business models, or others—that give us bigger impact for each dollar spent.

Together, we can transform the development landscape.
