CDC Director Tom Frieden

Thomas R. Frieden, MD, MPH, took the helm as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry on June 8, 2009.

The CDC Leaders

CDC′s two primary leadership groups are: CDC Management Board (CMB) and the CIO Management and Operations Team. Each group contributes to CDC's system of networked governance of the agency's overall direction.
